they say we come from a tiny space. they say it took six days to make. they say that somebody spat us out and formed us out of clay. but we are here now.

much of the past has already happened. most of the past will pass us again. origins can only be born once. now only happens once. we are here now.

~

take a breath. you will never do that again. remember what it felt like. take a breath. you will never do that again. take a breath. each breath is so similar. each breath is so new.

~

no animals are commodities. humans are animals. no humans are commodities. it is wrong to suppress the value of another's life to advance one's own.

humans are not more important than any other animal. humans are not any more special. we should not distance ourselves from them by using them as slaves. we should not distance ourselves from them by treating them as sacred. they are not, just as we are not.

the living world provides for us and we provide for the living world. in this way, the cycle can continue. but we are not fulfilling our role. in this way, the cycle is breaking.

~

it seems that humans crave category, hierarchy. but time will take any system and tangle it back. why fight? leave the tangle alone in the first place.

~

privacy is a necessity that does not conflict with having nothing to hide. privacy is a natural part of living. privacy is a natural part of being capable of advanced thought and emotion. privacy is a natural part of needing time for reflection. what is not necessary is cipher to hide from others what should remain untouched out of respect.

in supermassive communities, such trust-oriented living does not seem to be feasible. well, then it is supermassive communities that are at fault, not the concept of trust. trust is intrinsic; size overwhelms.

~

all living things are able to compromise and make do. humans are no exception. only the fool loses out on joy now by dreaming of potential joy elsewhere. where you are now is where you can find contentment.

the people ask, where do they have to be? what do they have to do? slow down and admire a flower. it is where it is. it does what it does. be like a flower, and purpose will come from all around.

~

power makes the good nervous. nerves lead to rushed decisions. rushed decisions lead to cruelty. this is not the fault of the good, only the nature of power. the fault of the good is in chasing what they know leads to hurt.

~

a wise one did not prepare for the year, because the year would provide as the year came. another wise one prepared well, in case the rest of their life was a trial. but the wisest reflected on the year gone by, and prepared for that which they had learned.

~

good comes from simplicity, but simplicity does not mean ease. simplicity is such that a young one can understand. ease is such that a young one can do. simplicity is such that only the elders can do well. ease is such that only the elders can understand the flaws. to wait and to learn, that is good.

~

see how the other animals drink from the stream and are happy? to hold yourself above that is to imprison oneself. see how the other animals stay healthy? do not poison yourself, and you will not be poisoned. do not panic yourself, and you will be at peace.

~

you must take what you needs to survive. do not take more, as you are not the only one that needs to survive. take from what is near, and let what is taken regrow. all things that grow are important. all things that grow need to survive.

when you consider yourself to be more important, also consider why. what sustained you, that you could think such thoughts? can you differentiate between the different plants? one day you will rejoin the cycle. those faceless plants will live on.

the cycle is reflected in all aspects of the living. the cycle is reflected in all aspects of growth. things come from the ground. they live by the ground. in the end they return to the ground. the cycle is natural; the ground is natural.

~

what makes one's dreams and emotions? stars make one's dreams and emotions. they are constant. consider the shooting star. perhaps someone somewhere has lost hope. someone somewhere has been broken. a star has been lost. don't be one whose star shoots. don't be the reason another's star shoots.

~

there is no distinction between water and life. water is life. where life is, water is. always aim to be filled with water, as that leads to being full of life. never deprive another of water, as to do so is to deprive that life of life. only the cycle has power over life.

when life must be taken, it must be out of necessity, not joy. to take life is not an act of celebration, nor a penance. take as little as is necessary for sustenance. that life yours to carry. that life's potential is yours to live out. it is your duty.

life is beautiful, and its beauty is reflected in all it inhabits. you are beautiful, because life fills you. you are loved, because all that grows loves all that grows. all that grows sustains all that grows. in being alive you are part of a community.

~

peace is admirable. peace is good. but when peace is threatened, it cannot be considered a weapon. love can fight threat; peace is only a state that serves to make threat uncommon.

~

when you wake, breath. stand tall, stretch high, wide, and low. make your heart pound. starting the day with exercise makes you happy.

clean yourself, and clean your mind. the sun has started again, and so should you. do not dwell on the sadness of the past. draw strength from the wisdom you have gained. breath.

eat every morning. eat well, and you will not need to eat again until the sun leaves again. share your food with others. community is beautiful. you are beautiful.

~

talk less. to listen is far more valuable. prompt and encourage. smile and be interested. learn new things, and feel joy that your conversation partner is flourishing along with you.

~

sing often, for it is the manifestation of joy in the world.

~

the sun is wise. follow the sun. when the sun is up, you are up. as the sun goes, make peace with the day.

~

when you try to find contentment in greater meaning, you will get lost. you do not see that the greater meaning is within you. there is much meaning in the world, but none of it is greater than you.

when you try to find contentment in that which you own, you will get lost. ownership is demeaning. own yourself, own your mind. the richest are the poorest. who can steal your happiness when it is within you?

~

you are the world. the world is you. what matters is everything. the cycle goes on, and you do not matter, but without you, the cycle would not be there to go on. you make the cycle, and the cycle is good.

do not see yourself as you, but as a facet of the greater meaning within you. the greater meaning is within all which grows, and with all which grows you are connected.

~

power is not a crown for the individual, but a shared fire for the community. when one hurts, they must have the power to diminish that hurt. when one has the power, they will notice the one who hurts, but the many who do not.

to pursue pleasure is admirable only when the pleasure is shared. when the pleasure is individual, one should consider whether another is being harmed.

detail makes the one and harms the all. you should explore every part of yourself, know what brings you pleasure and embrace that. but detail in the all is a bane to simplicity and leads to a maze of treachery.

~

understanding is a reflection of words. words are a reflection of understanding.

~

there are no opposites, only absences. to force opposites is a human flaw. to force opposites is to encourage separation. to encourage separation is to incite war.

~

simplicity is chaos, which is the absence of hierarchy. chaos is good. embrace confusion.

~

fragment who you are. be many, love many. let people talk and wonder, as that is what adds interest to life.

~

the world is full of distractions. the most distracting of distractions are those that promise to save one from distractions, as these distract their victims from the act of not being distracted. in itself, doing something is also a distraction, as it distracts one from the pleasure of doing nothing.

modern people rarely know what doing nothing feels like, as from their earliest days they have had to be doing something; and though that something is almost always essentially nothing, the idea that they are doing something has a hold, taking their nothing time and making it something time.

doing something is not bad; the problem is one inevitably feels that they are not doing enough when they are doing something, and something becomes many things, which is a much less peaceful way to live.

the population thinks that they are filling their time with worth, when in fact they are filling it with work. the worth was left behind a long time ago, and with it went the joy.

live surrounded by intent. do not worry about how much it takes to live with intent, but find peace in the knowledge it is there. the prison of non-ownership is as cruel as the prison of ownership.

it may seem like a triumph to carry one thing that does many things instead of many things that do one thing. but one thing cannot have the personality of many things. the bearing of one thing feels less, a simple facet; underappreciated, not respected.

~

touch is a magical thing. touch the things you love. each thing is its own thing, and its history is painted across it. know the things you love. know their stories.

~

live life unquantified; do not aim to measure and compare, because there is nothing worth measuring or comparing to. you know when you are healthy. you know when you are happy.

do not live experience thinking about how you will tell others. rather live experience so that you can learn from the experience. let the experience make you.

~

in a governed society, one has a responsibility to life and to the cycle to disregard any oppression in the regime.

stand up for the individual, especially if the individual cannot, because the whole is only worthwhile when the individuals are free, happy, unique. let them take you, because when they take you, they are not taking those they want to take.

when the governed society begins to dismiss the importance of the individual, sabotage their advances. it is inevitable that this will occur in governed society. pain is not always best served straight away.

~

progress in the name of progress is not progress, it is simply self-glorification.

progress is almost never pure progress. when one thing becomes more advanced, something is lost somewhere else. the question that nobody is asking is whether that loss is worth losing.

if you have the means to improve something, do so. but consider whether the improvement improves the thing for its user, or whether it improves it's manufacturer's pockets.

~

do not be the reason that life is ended. bring new life to things that another has removed from their life. bring new life into those things of your own that have left your life.

~

to appeal to the future or the past as a better or a worse time is foolish. they are different times, and different times have better times and worse times. but the line of time is not the same as the line of progress, and the line of progress is not the same as the line of joy.

~

do not fall prey to the abstraction of effort. when something bad does not affect you, but does affect others, you must do what you can to stand against it.

to hide mess does not tidy the mind.

governed societies provide a veil of equality to hide the suffering they permit. when law is biased and not enforced, what is the worth of law? when money can pay to quiet the law, what is the worth of law?

~

do not let constructed abstraction dictate your life. the day does not end in the middle of the night. the day ends when you go to bed. what difference does a few moments make, that the concept of so many moments can shift so rapidly?
